Courtnay Tartt Elias

Courtnay Tartt Elias is Creative Director and Principal of Creative Tonic, her Houston-based boutique design firm. With interior design, architectural consulting and construction projects throughout the United States, Courtnay is known for her refined floor plans, lively color palette, passion for art and unexpected blend of diverse periods of style.


Courtnay received her Bachelor of Arts in English Creative Writing with 
minors in Art History and Medieval Studies from Southern Methodist University. After graduation, she attended Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, England where she specialized in 19th and 20th Century Decorative Arts. Courtnay began her creative career in marketing and special events for Gerald Hines and Brennan's of Houston prior to founding her residential and commercial design firm in 2005.

In addition to working with her amazing clients, Courtnay is on the Decorative Arts Acquisition Committee and Rienzi Committee for the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. 

Courtnay, a lifelong Houstonian and graduate of The Kinkaid School, lives 
in Houston with her husband Mark and their three boys.
